Overview

Pixel Pets (“the Extension”) is a Chrome browser extension that renders a virtual pixel-art pet companion on web pages you visit. This Privacy Policy describes how the Extension handles your information.

Information We Collect

Pixel Pets does NOT collect, transmit, or share any personal information.

All data generated by the Extension is stored exclusively on your local device using Chrome’s built-in chrome.storage.local API.

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The Extension stores the following data only on your device:

Extension settings (size, speed, opacity)	Remembers your preferences	`chrome.storage.local`
Unlocked pet accessories	Tracks earned rewards	`chrome.storage.local`

Information We Do NOT Collect

Pixel Pets does not:

Collect, store, or transmit your browsing history
Access, read, or transmit any content from websites you visit
Collect any personally identifiable information (name, email, location, etc.)
Use cookies or tracking technologies
Send any data to external servers or third parties
Use analytics or crash reporting services
Share any data with advertisers or data brokers

Permissions Used

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

Permission	Why It’s Needed
`storage`	Saves pet data, settings, and achievements locally on your device
`alarms`	Runs periodic pet mood decay and auto-save timers
`host_permissions: <all_urls>`	Required to render the pet overlay on web pages you visit. The Extension reads no content from these pages.

Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all Extension data at any time by:

Opening the Extension Settings page
Going to Advanced tab
Clicking Reset All Data

You can also uninstall the Extension at any time via chrome://extensions, which removes all associated local data.

Children’s Privacy

Pixel Pets does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age. As no personal data is collected by the Extension, it is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
